Terms of service

What these terms cover

These terms apply to locksmith work you arrange with Keys On Wheels by phone or through this website. By booking a job, you agree to them.

How the price works

The price is explained on the phone before anyone drives out. It rests on what you describe: which vehicle or lock, what is wrong, and where. If the work at the car or door proves different, say a worn ignition, you hear the new price before any extra work begins, and you are free to turn it down.

Proof of ownership

A key or an opened door only goes to the person entitled to it. So before any opening or key cutting, we look at a photo ID and proof the vehicle or property is yours: a registration or title for a car; for a home, an ID showing the address, a lease or a utility bill; for a business, proof you can authorize the work. No proof, no job.

When we can be there

On the phone we tell you when we can be there. That is an estimate, not a fixed appointment: weather, road conditions and other calls can change it.

How locks are opened

Vehicles and doors are opened with entry tools and methods chosen to avoid damage. Locks and parts that are already worn or damaged can still fail during the work. If a part needs replacing, you hear the price first.

Keys and fobs bought elsewhere

We check compatibility before trying to program a key or fob you bought somewhere else. Many fobs sold online cannot be programmed, so we promise nothing for parts we did not supply.

Child or pet locked in a car

Call 911 first. A locksmith is not an emergency service, and emergency responders come before us. Lockouts with a child or pet inside get priority once we are called.

Information on this website

Pages here explain how car keys and locks usually work. Your vehicle or lock may differ, so nothing on this site is a quote or a promise about a particular car or door. Call for an answer about yours.

Which law applies

Idaho law applies to these terms and to the work we do.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
